Designed as a botanical tree garden, The Arboretum originally accommodated over a thousand trees and still retains over one hundred and fifty species.Having benefited from recent investment of over £5m, it provides a wide range of sports and leisure facilities including a children’s play area, five-a-side football pitches, cricket nets, bowling greens, a basketball court, and a jogging track. For the less active amongst us, the tree trail makes it the perfect setting for a gentle stroll.
Or you may prefer a stroll into the city. Park Gate’s unique setting close to the heart of Derby means that shopping, leisure, entertainment and nightlife are only a 10 minute walk away. Nottingham is also within easy reach and is well served by local transport.
Park Gate is ideally located for commuting. The inner ring road makes it easy to access the A6, A52, A38 and M1 as well as East Midlands and Birmingham Airports. Derby’s mainline station is a short walk away as are local employers such as the Derbyshire Royal Infirmary.
